Wayfinding Revolution in Lisburn: A City Transformed!
The Lisburn City Centre is about to undergo a wayfinding transformation, and it's a big deal! This project aims to revolutionize how people navigate the city, especially on foot, and it's already in motion. But here's the twist: it's not just about signs; it's about inclusivity and accessibility.
The project's initial phase is underway, focusing on enhancing the city's walkability. Eighteen brand-new and replacement fingerpost signs will be strategically placed at crucial junctions. These signs are not your average street markers. They are designed to cater to everyone, with features like estimated walking times, universal symbols, and high-contrast colors, making navigation a breeze.
The signs will guide pedestrians to essential locations, including shopping hubs, transport hubs, parks, and public amenities. This network of signage will complement the existing system, creating a comprehensive and user-friendly wayfinding experience.

Cllr Claire Kemp, Chair of the Regeneration and Growth Committee, is thrilled about the project's potential, emphasizing its role in creating a more inclusive and vibrant city centre.
